Jim’s commitment to service has shaped every chapter of his life and reflects a belief that strong communities are built through steady, principled leadership. His role as an Alternate Commissioner for the City of Katy Planning and Zoning Commission has further deepened his understanding of responsible growth, longterm planning, and the
importance of listening carefully to residents when making decisions that affect families and neighborhoods. As a Board Member for Keep Katy Beautiful, he has worked to protect the character of Katy’s shared spaces and strengthen civic pride through hands-on stewardship.
Beyond civic service, Jim has invested deeply in developing leaders and strengthening community through a Men’s Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith leadership organization, where he has served Katy area men in multiple leadership roles. His work in this setting reflects his belief that leadership begins with a willingness to do hard things,
accountability, and a desire to serve others. Jim has consistently stepped forward to encourage and support men seeking to grow physically, relationally, and spiritually, modeling the kind of integrity and humility he believes should guide community service. In Spring 2025, he organized a major fundraising effort across this Men’s organization to support The Manna House, an organization dedicated to helping men overcome addiction and rebuild their lives.
Jim has demonstrated a heart to serve children and students both globally and locally. He led Houston Area fundraising for a period of two years for the Eagles Wings Zambia Disc Golf Ministry, helping expand faith-based sports programming for youth in Macha, Zambia. Closer to home, Jim has led and supported efforts to fundraise and provide bicycles and gifts through Katy Elementary’s annual December giving tree campaign over a period of five years. Across every role, he has demonstrated a consistent pattern of virtuous leadership—rooted in service, guided by faith, and focused on strengthening the lives of students, families, and the broader Katy community.
The dedication of our educators and staff reaches far beyond the classroom, shaping our children’s futures and strengthening families across our community. They are the backbone of our district, and their work continues to bless this generation and the ones that follow. Investing in fair compensation for those who pour into our children every day is not only wise stewardship, it’s a reflection of the gratitude and respect they deserve.
A strong public school system should open doors for every student, no matter the path they choose to pursue following high school graduation. As someone who believes deeply in the dignity of hard work, I know that not every student is called to a four‑year university—and that’s something to support, not overlook. Our district must provide high‑quality academic instruction alongside robust career and technical programs that prepare students to step confidently into the workforce, start a trade, or pursue specialized training. When we equip all students with real‑world skills and meaningful opportunities, we strengthen families, support local businesses, and build a community where every young person can thrive.
Good stewardship is not just a fiscal principle—it’s a moral one. Taxpayers deserve a school board that treats every dollar with respect and keeps the focus where it belongs: on students and the classroom. That means prioritizing academics, supporting teachers, and ensuring resources are directed toward programs that deliver measurable value. I am committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible budgeting that reflects the values of our community. Wise financial management today ensures that future generations inherit a school district that is strong, stable, and worthy of their trust.
As a father of two active Katy ISD students, I know firsthand that a child’s success is strongest when parents and educators work side by side. I believe deeply in the responsibility families carry in shaping their children’s future, and I’m committed to ensuring their voices are heard. Our district thrives when we listen to families, respect their concerns, and build a true partnership between home and school—one rooted in trust, transparency, and a shared commitment to helping every child reach their potential.
